Artist Workshop with Ian Johnston

In this workshop, Ian will bring along his steam box to teach us how to tie wood in knots, share a bit about the beauty of high-quality timber and the things you can do with it. Light refreshments will be provided; capacity is strictly limited so RSVP right away!

This activity was assisted through Arts Tasmania as part of the Perennial Residency program at Art Farm Birchs Bay.

SCULPTURE PRIZE ACQUISITIONS ON DISPLAY

YEAR-ROUND, OPEN 9-5 DAILY

The Art Farm Birchs Bay permanent collection is open year-round​ on our sculpture trail, showcasing acquisitions from 2006-2021.  Our 2021 installations include a towering rope and wood work held in delicate tension, created by Ian Johnston, and a striking ceramic fountain made by Caitlin Fargher.

This year, the sculpture trail is taken over by 21 ambitious new artworks for you to enjoy.  We are handing out over $11,500 in prizes, including opportunities for you to have your say via our People's Choice Award.
